Souhaitons lui bonne chance dans son travail et ses études.
On Monday July 16, 2018 we had our regular weekly reporting, discussion and meeting. On this particular day, there was only one loan request besides other routine discussion and reporting. The loan was given for an 18 years old girl named "Yordanos Mulugeta". Yordanos is a grade 10 student this year and a member of "Lideta" self help group since the last one year. Yordanos is raised in a big and extremely poor single family. Her father died many years ago and left behind her mother and five of her brothers and sisters. Yordanos is the oldest children in the family where the burden of the family is up on her and her mom. Besides this, going to school and covering all her schooling expenses is not as such easy. Yordanos is a very courageous girl to help the family by doing a job of traditional hair styling (hair dressing) called "Shuruba". Since she is great in making "Shuruba", women usually come to her house. She doesn't either need to rent a hair salon or buy modern hair styling equipments (machines). She uses just a comb and a wire rods. In doing so, she managed to save 798 birr in one year. Right now Yordanos's clients are in need of artificial hair to make their hair look very long. So, Yordanos asked a loan of 1,500 birr to buy artificial hair. We happily gave the loan and encouraged her to work hard.
